Dr. Adriaan Nel is a dedicated Family Physician with a passion for providing comprehensive and inclusive healthcare. He began his medical journey at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and has since built a career focused on serving the LGBTIQA+ community.
After moving to Canada, Dr. Nel earned certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada and passed the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada exams. His work with the LGBTIQA+ community in Canada shaped his commitment to delivering empathetic, knowledgeable care.
Upon relocating to Australia, Dr. Nel became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. His expertise extends to HIV treatment and prevention, as he is an accredited S100 prescriber and a proud member of the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM). Dr. Nel also has specialized training in Gender Affirming Care.
As a member of the LGBTIQA+ community, Dr. Nel understands the unique challenges many face in accessing healthcare. His personal and professional experiences have deepened his resolve to create a safe, supportive environment where all patients feel respected and cared for.
